I think I was one of the very first to have a sample of Plast-Aid , even before it went on the market. As a long time acquaintance and friend of it's inventor, I was more than happy to give it a try. From the beginning I was amazed at how this powder and liquid mixture could repair, mold, and secure almost anything.

Plast-Aid is especially suited for the Plumbing industry. It's ability to adhere to PVC and ABS really caught my attention, I have used it to repair cracked and leaking water and drain pipes. I like the way it will form into and over cracks and then harden in 15 minutes or less ready to be pressurized. When water testing drain and waste you can make leaks disappear even in damp conditions.

Plast-Aid has enabled me to repair several of my power tools that have the new high impact plastic construction. It not only will bond pieces back together, but with a little ingenuity I have molded and shaped it in to new parts or filled in gapping voids in some of my tools. It can even be tinted with various colors to match the object being repaired.

One of my tools had a stripped out bolt hole that held some of the gears in place. I cleaned the hole with a degreaser and put a small amount of Plast-Aid in the hole. I then screwed the bolt in lightly and allowed the material to set. When it hardened I unscrewed the bolt leaving new threads in the hole. I then reassembled the tool and I am still using it several times a week with the original repair.

I made a new insert for the tractor feed on one of our printers. With it's used as a liquid I repaired the cracks and when it was more like a clay texture I was able to shape missing pieces of the knob. The material could be sanded or shaped with a dremal or hand files to replicate the original form of the object.

My service men find Plast-Aid especially helpful when the anchor bolts that hold a toilet to the floor have rotted out. They just drill out the concrete or wood where a new bolt needs to be, fill the over sized hole with the liquefied material, stand a new bolt in the hole and let it set for 15 minutes. If the hole has been belled out at the bottom, the hardened material will hold the new bolt in place for as long as the floor lasts.

When anything brakes around our shop my guys joke that the first thing I say is Plast-Aid. At first it was kind of amusing but as they saw me fix things time after time they all put Plast-Aid on there service trucks as a standard part of there repair inventory.

I could go on and on but don't just take my word for it, try it for yourself and I'm sure you will be amazed at the many uses you will find for Plast-Aid at home and at work.

I release this testimonial for what ever use it may be put to.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,

When I first encountered Plast-aid I instructed my sales staff to test the product to see what it would or would not do. They butt glued two pieces of 1" schedule 40 PVC pipe, allowed it to dry overnight, and tried to break it at the joint. The pipe fractured 2" away from the glued joint. Then a piece of ABS and PVC pipe were butt glued and broken with the same result. A granite rock was glued to the side of an ABS pipe. When impacted laterally with a hammer the rock broke free leaving pieces of rock against the glued surface. In other words, the rock fractured instead of the Plast?aid. A 1" diameter hole was drilled into a wood 2x4. Plast-aid was poured into the hole and the thread portion of a 3/8" x 5" machine bolt was placed in the still liquid material. Later the bolt was unscrewed from the material. The result was a female thread. The bolt was repeatedly screwed in and out with no apparent damage or wear to the bolt or the plastic female thread.

At this point I instructed Plast-aid to be sold to our customers. I also asked our customers to give us "feed back" on how the product preformed. One man drilled holes into a concrete slab and glued in closet bolts in order to attach a commode to the concrete. Another repaired the cube mold in an old commercial icemaker at a restaurant. Plastic antique faucet handles and lavatory pop-ups have also been repaired. Plast-aid can be molded into almost any shape before it sets up and sanded to final form after it has adequately cured.

Thus far I have received no negative comments from anyone who has used Plast?aid. I believe it will perform at least as well as epoxy resin products. To date I have found no ridged plastic material it will not adhere to.

If you have any questions concerning my experience with Plast-aid, please contact me at the above address or phone number.

Sincerely,

In regards to your product, PLAST-AID, we feel that you should know how pleased we are with the results obtained when using your product. Plast-Aid has made our job so much easier and for this we owe you a big THANK YOU!

We repair all types of business machines and the plastic trays, covers and mechanical parts do break. Now, we just reach into our tool case and grab the Plast-Aid. The job is done and the customer is happy. No more having to order the part and waiting for it to arrive.

Now, we're not saying that we never install new parts, but many times a part repaired with Plast-Aid is stronger than the the original. Also we have discovered some machines have items that tend to break, again Plast-Aid to the rescue, we reinforce it before installation and the problem is solved.

When it comes to broken or missing parts we have countless stories to tell about the parts we have built because of Plast-Aid's unique ability to be molded and formed.

It seems lately, hardly a day goes by without using it for something. Rarely do wonder products surface, but we feel that Plast-Aid is just that, "A WONDER PRODUCT"

Sincere Thanks,

As a user of the product Plast-aid I have been amazed at the diversity and ease of use of this product.

In the course of my business I have used Plast-aid to repair aluminum housings, repair no longer manufactured equipment parts, custom make knobs and nuts, construct inserts for stripped threads, repair PVC storage tanks, replace tool handles, cast and mold specialty parts, and repair favorite kitchen utensils, and my children's toys.

It is a product I would highly recommend to any repair shop as it seems to lend its self to a new use every day.

Sincerely,

Dear sirs,

Our plant manufactures an elastomeric formliner for use with architectural design concrete.

After repeated use, our molds will sometimes get tears and holes in them. We have found that your product, Plast-aid is an excellent repair product for our material.

We can have the repair done in fifteen minutes with little or no down time thank you for your product.

In the past, when I encountered broken plastic components, it was almost an "automatic" to order a new component. 'Ibis delayed, service to the customer and revenue to my business. Plast-Aid, within the first two months saved the customer both time and money and decreased my receivables - on at least a dozen occasions.

Using Plast-Aid in conjunction with Silly Putty has allowed me to build replicas of broken plastic pieces on several occasions - right in the customer's office! Simply create a mold of the broken component with the Silly Putty. Add more liquid in the mixing of Plast-Aid and pour into the mold. Wait 15 minutes and - Presto! - a new part has been created!'

Thank you for showing me your shop and for demonstrating Plast-Aid. I have made good use of the sample you gave me, and find it superior to the products normally competing with it.

I have repaired my broken ceramic Kamado oven, a sort of enclosed small cooker popular in Japan. I would not have known what other material to use on it. In making repairs to PVC, of course, there is nothing comparable. Aside from the popular epoxy cements, the two products most similar in use are JB Weld and Plumbers' Putty. I find the following comparisons:

Adhesivity: Plast-Aid is tops in "stickiness", followed by JB Weld. Plumbers' Putty, recommended for PVC, is very poor.

Viscosity: Plast-Aid is infinitely variable. JB Weld is runny at first but not really pourable, and one must wait for an hour or more to use it on a vertical surface, and even longer to mold it. Plumbers' Putty is very thick and putty?like from the beginning, not very versatile.

Curing Time: Plast-Aid a magnitude quicker than both the others.

This is great stuff! Too bad the description has been trademarked. Though smaller retailers are generally reluctant to add a product to their inventory unless it is already in demand, I would be glad to recommend this to my customers since I have personally tested it. The product is good enough to warrant promotion and distribution on a national scale.

Plast-aid Corporation has contacted me to see if I would be willing to recommend their new repair plastic, Plast-aid, to the other SCP branches, especially to those who' are not yet familiar with the product. They asked me because Raleigh is the branch that is selling the most of their product. We are selling about a case a week and have sold about 17 cases in 1998.

We have Plast-aid displayed on the front counter along with the sample where a quarter is attached to a PVC Tee. We tell people if they can pull out the quarter they can have it and some free Plast-aid. We haven't given any away.

Customers, after our "Puppy Dog" close, are buying the product, using it, and buying it again. For the most part our customers are using Plast-aid to fix leaks in PVC plumbing, but are finding new ways to use it all the time for making difficult repairs.

Great product! Try it, your customers will buy it. Be sure to ask Plast-aid for samples of the quarter stuck to the pipe. They will be glad to send them out.
